The Authority entered into a Regional Partnership Agreement with the State Government in October 2001. The agreement commits both parties to joint action on existing and future regional development priorities, including infrastructure development, economic development, natural resource management, tourism, and community and cultural development.
There has been significant progress in all priority areas since the agreement was signed.
The Authority and the State Government reviewed the partnership agreement in November 2003 and agreed on new regional initiatives.
The focus of the revised Agreement will be business and employment opportunities, associated wind-farm developments and the North-West food industry.
