REG. TOURING STRATEGY IMPLEMENTATION
Partnership Arrangement:
Grant under Sustainable Regions - Tourism Investment Program
Description
The Cradle Coast Authority has secured funding through the Federal Government's Sustainable Regions program ($100,000) to implement the recommendations of the recently completed Cradle Coast Regional Touring Strategy.
Financial support for this project was also provided by the Authority through its partnership arrangement with Tourism Tasmania and matched by funds from Cradle Coast Member Councils.
This funding will assist with the resourcing of the skills and expertise needed to ensure the successful implementation of this strategy.
Implementation of this strategy will guide and coordinate industry and public investment in marketing, infrastructure and services over the next five years.
Identified strategies for implementation include:
- Market research analysis.
- Preparation of a regional marketing strategy for each of the individual touring routes.
- Development of a detailed signage plan for the touring route consistent with the Tasmanian Visitor Information System.
- Using existing tourism hub plans to facilitate infrastructure development plans for each touring route and hub.
- Implementation of hub plans with particular emphasis on building capacity and focusing on visitor information and customer service delivery issues.
