Botanical Resources Australia is the global leader in the production of the natural insecticide active ingredient, pyrethrin, extracted from Australian grown pyrethrum daisies. On behalf of our valued client Botanical Resources Australia (BRA), we are currently seeking applications from a degree qualified Chemist to join their Analytical, Research and Regulatory team.

About the Role:
Reporting to the Analytical Manager, this full-time role will be based at BRA’s purpose-built facility in Ulverstone. The objective of your role will be to undertake the analysis of pyrethrum plant materials and related products and to also undertake a range of functions to further support the operation of the analytical laboratory.
To be successful in this role, you will need to display outstanding communication skills and have the ability to work within a close-knit team. The ideal candidate must be highly enthusiastic with excellent interpersonal skills. You will be tasked with completing a range of functions in a safe and diligent manner.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform a range of analyses according to defined procedures and methodology.
Develop and validate new and existing methods for analyses of pyrethrum-based products and other compounds of interest.
Assist in maintaining and managing quality programs for ISO17025/NATA accreditation and BRA quality systems.
Assist with the development of improved data acquisition, handling and control systems.
Develop skills in accredited methods to become a lab endorsed signatory.
Data review and reporting of analytical results.
Maintain the laboratory as a clean and safe working environment and observe BRA’s safety procedures.
Perform other duties as required by Management.

To be successful you must hold the following essential qualifications, skills and attributes:

Chemistry Degree (Min. B.App. Sci.).
Experience with HPLC and GC techniques.
High attention to detail with strong problem-solving skills.
A strong team player with good communication skills.
Competent computer skills (Microsoft Office Suite, databases, LIMs / CDS).
Previous experience in a manufacturing environment.
Exposure to quality systems, particularly NATA accreditation, would be desirable.
