The Tasmanian Government has funded the appointment of a Regional Cat Management Coordinator in each of Tasmania’s three regions to work alongside councils and the community for improved cat management and to build awareness of the issues, encourage better levels of responsible ownership and provide support in undertaking compliance activities under the Cat Management Act.
This position is one of three regional coordinator roles in Tasmania. The Cradle Coast Regional Cat Management Coordinator will be employed by CCA and have the responsibility of overseeing the implementation of the Tasmanian Cat Management Plan in the region.
The position will be based in Burnie, but will be expected to work across the region with councils and the broader community to implement the objectives of the Tasmanian Cat Management Plan.
To be considered for the role, it is preferred that you have a tertiary qualification in environment related subjects such as ecology, land / natural resource management and well-developed knowledge and expertise related to the management of domestic, stray or feral cats, or similar animal management issues, and stakeholder engagement.
The position is offered on a full-time, 20-month fixed term basis with a base salary in the range of $65,000 to $70,000 per annum, dependent on the successful applicant’s knowledge, skills and abilities.
