Applications are now open for the Australian Renewable Energy Agency (ARENA) Regional Australia Microgrid Pilots Program (RAMPP). The $50 million six year program was announced in the 2020-21 Federal Budget aiming to improve the resilience and reliability of electricity supply in regional communities and demonstrate solutions to technical, regulatory or commercial barriers to the deployment of microgrid technologies in Australia.
The program is expected to provide grants between $1 million and $5 million. A requirement of the Program is that all Projects have been demonstrated to be feasible prior to commencement. Evidence of feasibility is required in the form of a Feasibility Study or equivalent feasibility assessment.
